I'll start by saying that you would be hard pressed to find a hairstyle or ensemble that would disappoint you at this years Academy awards ceremony. The choices in hair, makeup, and attire were phenomenal. Carefully planned and well executed. From the beautifully heart stopping beaded masterpiece worn by Sarah Jessica Parker, to the jaw dropping shoulder less gown worn by Taraji P. Henson.

Beyond her dress, makeup, and jewelry, Taraji P. Henson's hair was incredible, sexy, and my favorite by far. Taraji was one of the most beautiful woman on the red carpet. Her physical beauty being eclipsed only by her grace. She spoke with elegance, candor, and her joy was supremely evident. When she spoke of her father he may as well have been standing right beside her. His presence was definitive. May he rest in peace ... with great pride.
Not to be outdone, nearly all who attended were fiercely competitive, and dressed to the 9's. The hair was as polished as it could possibly be. I felt that there was were 2 dominant style trends for the women that walked the red carpet for the 81st Annual Academy Awards.
The first style trend that I noticed were low buns. Fashioned with the hair being swept back cleanly but not tightly, culminating in a loose, low, slightly disheveled mass of loose curl or wave.

The second trend I noticed was down hair that was free flowing, full, and loaded with big, soft, slightly tousled waves.

Unfortunately ... we had to have a couple of odd ends who just didn't get the memo. This, is the worst of those ends.

Enough said.
All things considered, it was a very beautiful night.
